Company Profile
American Shared Hospital Services, together with its subsidiaries, provides turnkey technology solutions for advanced radiosurgical and radiation therapy services to medical centers in the United States. It leases radiosurgery and radiation therapy equipment, as well as provides financing solutions to health care providers. The company offers Gamma Knife radiosurgery equipment, a non-invasive treatment for malignant and benign brain tumors, vascular malformations, and trigeminal neuralgia. It also provides the image guided radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy systems, as well as its proprietary operating room. In addition, the company focuses on developing proton therapy centers in Dayton, Ohio- and Boston, Orlando, and Long Beach, California. Further, it offers planning, installation, reimbursement, and marketing support services. As of March 1, 2011, the company served 19 medical centers in 17 states. American Shared Hospital Services was founded in 1980 and is based in San Francisco, California.
