Approach Resources Inc., an independent energy company, engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of oil and gas properties in the United States. The company holds interests in properties primarily located in the Permian Basin in West Texas- East Texas Basin- and Chama Basin in Northern New Mexico. As of December 31, 2010, it owned working interests in 548 producing oil and gas wells, and had estimated proved reserves of approximately 50.7 million barrels of oil equivalent. The company was incorporated in 2002 and is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
