Air Transport Services Group, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides aircraft for lease, airline operations, and other related services primarily to the shipping and transportation industries. It leases aircraft to airlines and other customers. The company also provides aircraft, crew, and maintenance services- airlift services- freight transportation and supply chain management services- passenger transportation primarily to the U.S. military- and air charter brokerage services. In addition, it offers aircraft maintenance and modification services- aircraft part sales services- equipment leasing and maintenance services- mail handling services for the U.S. Postal Service- and specialized services for aircraft fuel management and freight logistics. As of December 31, 2010, the company had a total of 64 aircraft, including 54 owned aircraft, 6 leased aircrafts under capital leases, and 4 aircrafts under operating leases. It serves delivery companies, freight forwarders, airlines, and government customers in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. The company was formerly known as ABX Holdings, Inc. and changed its name to Air Transport Services Group, Inc. in May 2008. Air Transport Services Group, Inc. was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Wilmington, Ohio.
