Mullen Group Ltd. provides transportation and related services to the oil and natural gas industry in western Canada. The company operates in two segments, Oilfield Services and Trucking/Logistics. The Oilfield Services segment offers specialized transportation services, drilling services, well-servicing equipment, and warehousing and computerized inventory management to the oil and natural gas industry. Its services include drilling rig relocation services- conductor pipe setting- core drilling- shallow gas and coal-bed methane drilling- casing setting- transporting oversize and overweight shipments- pipe stockpiling and stringing services- the transportation, handling, and storage of oilfield fluids, tubulars, and drilling mud- dredging and dewatering services- and services related to the processing and production of heavy oil, such as well-servicing and pumping, hauling, and disposal of fluids. The Trucking segment provides truckload and less-than-truckload general freight services to customers in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. It transports general freight- specialized commodities, such as cable, pipe, and steel- over-dimensional loads comprising heavy equipment, compressors, and over-sized goods- and dry bulk commodities, such as cement and other dry bulk goods. This segment also provides logistics, warehousing and distribution, transload, and intermodal services. As of December 31, 2010, the company owned or leased 1,795 power units- had access to approximately 1,373 additional power units under contract with owner-operators and subcontractors- owned or leased 6,741 trailers, which include vans, flatbeds, dry bulk trailers, specialized trailers, and temperature-controlled trailers- and owned 31 hydraulic single rigs, 17 auger drilling rigs, and 1 dual rotary rig. The company was formerly known as Mullen Group Income Fund and changed its name to Mullen Group Ltd. in May 2009. Mullen Group Ltd. was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in Okotoks, Canada.
