North American Energy Partners Inc. provides heavy construction and mining, piling, and pipeline installation services in Canada. The company operates in three segments: Heavy Construction and Mining, Piling, and Pipeline. The Heavy Construction and Mining segment offers surface mining support services for oil sands and other natural resources, including land clearing, stripping, muskeg removal, and overburden removal to expose the mining area- supplying labor and equipment to supplement customersÂ' mining fleets supporting ore mining- and general support services, such as road building, repair and maintenance for mine and treatment plant operations, hauling of sand and gravel, and relocation of treatment plants. This segment also engages in construction related to the expansion of existing projects-site development and infrastructure- and environmental and tailings management services, including construction and modification of tailing ponds and reclamation of mined-out areas. In addition, it provides industrial site construction for mega-projects and underground utility installation for plant, refinery, and commercial building construction. The Piling segment installs various types of driven, drilled and screw piles, caissons, earth retention, and stabilization systems. Its piling works include industrial projects in the oil sands, and related petrochemical and refinery complexes- and commercial and community infrastructure projects. The Pipeline segment involves in infrastructure development for oil and gas pipeline systems, such as gathering and processing, transmission, storage, and distribution, as well as related maintenance and other specialty services. The companyÂ's fleet includes approximately 780 pieces of diversified heavy construction equipment and 750 ancillary vehicles. It serves customers in the oil sands- and industrial, commercial, public, and pipeline construction markets. The company was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Acheson, Canada.
