Company Profile
Stillwater Mining Company engages in the development, extraction, processing, refining, and marketing of palladium, platinum, and associated metals in south central Montana, the United States. The company's mining operations consist of Stillwater Mine located near Nye, Montana- and the East Boulder Mine located near Big Timber, Montana. It also operates smelter and base metal refinery located in Columbus, Montana. In addition, the company recycles spent catalyst material to recover platinum group metals at its smelter and base metal refinery. As of December 31, 2010, it had proven and probable ore reserves of approximately 40.8 million tons at an average grade of 0.49 ounces per ton. The company was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Billings, Montana.
